Salem Council accepts Gage resignation, advances housing initiatives

NJ SALEM — Salem Common Council accepts resignation of Councilman Earl Gage, advancing housing initiatives. In unanimous-consent votes, the council appointed Sean Brown as Administrative Agent for the city's Affordable Housing program and approved housing trust fund spending and affirmative marketing procedures required by state fair housing law. The council also adopted Ordinances 26-04 and 26-05, establishing a handicapped parking space at 334 New Market Street and amending towing regulations, and introduced Ordinance 26-06 on first reading with a public hearing set for March 23.
Additional actions included the employment of Dominique Ortiz as a part-time parking enforcement officer and approval of applications for state transitional aid and recycling-grant funding.
